Family Reading Partners

Geared towards families who want to improve home literacy, Family Reading Partners (FRP) provides opportunities for families to come together and explore carefully chosen books together. Facilitated by experts, this approximately one-hour gathering includes a research component showing that adult/child interaction around literacy impacts children’s academic success. The families keep the books to add to their home collections. In addition, there are conversation cards attached to the books that provide ideas for expanding the conversation. Though the materials are geared towards babies through third grade, the whole family is invited to attend and encouraged to participate.
